Karnataka
The VidhanaSoudha, located in Bangalore , is the seat of the state legislature of Karnataka. was built in the 1950s. Shri Kengal Hanumathaiah, Chief Minister of Mysore from 1951 to 1956, is credited with the conception of the Vidhana Soudha. It was built in the time when India was undergoing its worst crisis like partition, financial crisis. I do not know why Mr.Hanumathaiah showed such a hurry in building this structure at the time when state re-organisation too have not been made properly. But that is what politicians usually do. They take unusual energy and enthusiasm in building activities. Its interesting to know that charges of corruption have been made against the govt even at that time.
Vidhana soudha is elegant only from outside. There is nothing worth seeing inside the building.
The best part of the building is its canteen. This maintenance of this employees canteen alone shows how well the state is administered. Its shows the calibre of the people who aid and advice the govt of Karnataka in administration. The canteen is best equipped and all fecilities are provided to staff working in this building. Never miss to to take a look of this canteen when you visit Vidhana Soudha.
